i spent an awesome three day weekend camping on santa rosa island.
we saw lot of herds of mule deer and elk roaming the beautiful hills.

Love this shot Greg. Always fab to see some wild life while out camping. Around here, this is the time of year where it REALLY starts getting a little colder than I like for hopping into a tent. I'm so not into the winter camping thing....

FYI the Park Service has plans to exterminate all the elk and mule deer on the island. Recently Bush passe d abill portecting them for now, but who knows how long that will lst. these mule deer are free from Cronic wasting disease. the deer and elk have been there for more than a decade. they need our protection and mangaement.
