take 14 friends, a bag of biltong, throw in a district 9 viewing and you have the recipe for a super fun night out!
district 9 is set in south africa (hence the biltong 😉 ) and apart from being the best sci-fi movie in a long time is an anthropologist’s dream.
i bet you’ll be seeing D9 in college courses for years to come…
i highly recommend that you go and see this movie but not before you have read chris mundell’s review of district 9…

I AM quite obviously an uneducated man in a great many subjects. I thoroughly enjoyed the biltong and I believe my first experience may have been compromised by the fact that the tiny bag that Greg ordered was not likely a true representation of the glorious big stuff from back home. Please forgive me and I hope that I may someday experience the real deal. Thanks for beholding me!
Chris
Chris – You are quite obviously an uneducated man when it comes to biltong. Behold: Biltong differs from Jerky in two distinct ways:
* The meat used in biltong can be much thicker; typically biltong meat is cut in strips approx 1 inch wide – but can be thicker. Jerky is normally very thin meat.[citation needed]
* The vinegar and salt in biltong, together with the drying process, cures the meat as well as adding texture and flavour. Jerky is traditionally dried without vinegar.[citation needed
Nevah let it be said of biltong that it is jerky. Nevah!
