Brenda,
There is info in the documentation on how to specify a directory for the pictures. It will look something like this:
phpslideshow.php?directory=/sub1/sub2/
where sub1is a sub-directory of the directory in which the phpslideshow code resides and sub2 is the sub-directory of sub1 in which the image files reside.
I actually have the phpslideshow code, template, and css in my root directory, load it into an inline frame on a page in a sub-directory and use photos from a sub-directory of the one I call from (two down from where the code is located). I’m running 6+ unique slideshows (each on different pages) using just the one copy of the phpslideshow .php (and the template file & and css file, I pulled all the css out of the template file).
Good luck
Awesome programming, this is the most elegant photo slideshow I’ve seen.
I do have one question, is there any possible way to put the slideshow into a page outside of the images directory? I’m trying to use the slideshow as a supplement on an index page, but my images directory is 2 directories down.
I have tried using an include(), but the slideshow doesn’t work properly and clicking on anything goes to that phpslideshow.php page itself rather than staying put on the index page.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
hello,
the script is VERY cool. i tried to display the recording date&time of the images , but could not figure out how. exif is enabled (php version 4.4.1) and the images contain exif data. camera model is canon eos 350d. i dont know, how to modify template.html to display the information. has somebody a hint or an example for me? thanks in advance.
Hi
i have to say I love this script
i was just wondering is possible to have mulitple slidesshows runing at once? would be very useful for a site I am developing
Cheers for good work
I also got PHPSlideShow v0.6.2, for a long time, and discovered the newest version today.
One question i got, in former times the slideshow was sorted by the names of the pics, now, it´s´sorted by “newest” and “oldest” – just writing “name” still works, but produces an error *- is it still possible to sot the pics by name?
Thanks
a
*error is:
Warning: array_multisort(): Argument #2 is expected to be an array or a sort flag in...
This looks perfect. I’m having a problem getting it running though. This is proly obvious but do I need to tell it a directory to find the images in?
I’m getting links that look like this: phpslideshow.php?directory=.¤tPic=1
The show wont advance. the ‘1 of x’ section displays the correct number for x but it wont go forward.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for the software. Clean and elegant.
Am using v0.6.2 at work and just looked over v0.9.1 source. Looks great and will be even easier to implement for my personal site (been trying to figure out how since i wanted thumbnails too – now you’ve given it to me!). Love the addition of thumbnails and being template based (and implemntation of css too).
Hi there!
This looks great – just what i was looking for…Thanks!
Hi Greg,
I’m a longtime weblog sort from Plymouth, MA and a 4+ year user of phpslideshow. I’m doing a site upgrade for my friends at Southersmarsh.com, so came around sniffing for the latest version of the script. I’m glad to see that you’ve got a full-on weblog here now, and that PHPSlideShow is template based.
And I was shocked and delighted to discover that you were one of the Paparazi at Saturday’s parade, which was easily the funniest thing I saw all day. I live in L.A. and was visiting SB with my girlfriend.
Anyway, it seemed like the sort of coincidence that deserved a shout out.
Take Care
Ryan
Glad to see its still a living bit of code!
I love it and use it a lot! Have to upgrade my installations.
